At the end of lockdown.3 I attended a social enterprise network event online. I met Ann, from Same Difference Dance. She shared the work she does in care homes, bringing joy through music! And my brain went into overdrive with ideas we could do to collaborate.
In July we delivered a pilot project of Tots, Tunes & Traditions. Bringing generations together, to reconnect through music, movement and making memories. Ann and I donated our time, resources and skills for free to bring the project to life. The sessions were heartwarming and just what I hoped they would be. Connecting generations – bonding – shared experiences through the joy of music.
I can not explain the gratitude to The Magic Little Grant‘s fund for awarding us £500 to continue to deliver inter-generational sessions in Yeovil. This money will support us in keep the costs down for families, whilst also covering our expenses. Throughout August we shall be offering 2 sessions a week of our Tots, Tunes & Traditions.
These sessions are aimed at little ones (0-4yrs), a parent and an older adult (grandparent/relative/friend). Sessions are at 10am & 12.30pm. Booking essential.
This project has been made possible by a grant from Localgiving and Postcode Local
