Every month we have a range of groups, events and workshops at The Huddle.

November Plans at The Huddle

So lockdown has put a halt on all our lovely plans. But here is how we are still here for you throughout. As a support space we have chosen to continue a selection of our services in person in line with government guidelines. As well as a range of things online.

Our shop is closed – you can pop on to our new online shop and come and click & collect on Mondays 9.30-4. If you would like to have a look round our shop and some personalised support with your shopping why not book a video shopping trip for free here

IN PERSON

Monday’s we will continue to offer our new parent support group for those with non-mobile babies (pre crawlers). This group is suitable for both the birth parent and non-birthing parent. You can access feeding support, mental health & wellbeing, information on normal infant behaviour and sign posting. You can book on here

Carrying Consultations: We will continue to offer carrying support in person for newborns, medical considerations, parents who would benefit carrying for their mental health and well being. you can book here

ONLINE & DIGITAL SUPPORT

In our facebook community I will be sharing daily lives (about play activities, parenting and carrying). Daily check-ins. Opportunity to join meeting room socials. Join us here

Weekly play & support groups

A range of groups for parents and their little ones from pregnancy and beyond. An informal space, to meet other parents, let your little ones play and access support as and when needed. Groups at The Huddle are hosted by Kizzy, our parenting & carrying consultant from Babywearing South West. Feeding Peer Support is available at each session, as is child development and normal infant and toddler behaviour information. Groups are all pre booked to meet government covid secure guidelines. Groups are £2 an adult. Due to covid we are unable to offer you tea or coffee, so why not pop out and grab a take away from your favourite coffee shop. Treats and snacks in a covid secure way available.

Nappy Natter

Come along to the Huddle in Yeovil find out more about cloth nappies. Chaz from Loving by Nature will be there with her demo kit to run through, answer your questions and will have a small selection of stock for sale.

Session for up to six people, toys available and welcome to bring a take away drink from your favourite cafe.

Baby Massage Course

Hand On Heart Baby Massage – Jodie is running a 5 week introduction to baby massage course at The Huddle for those with babies from 8 weeks to crawling. You will be taught full baby massage routines using strokes that consist of indian massage, swedish massage and reflexology. You will learn techniques to help settle and soothe your baby. 5 week course is £50 you can book here

Hand & Foot Casting

ForeverMore Casting are back this month to do your 3D casting! Beautiful and unique gifts to treasure those early day memories. They will be joining us on 13th November contact them and book here

Throughout November and December we will be open weekend dates. We will be opening the shop up to local independent businesses who usually rely on Xmas markets at this time of year. Businesses we have confirmed for November are :

Understanding you Newborn – why they cry and how to survive. Nov 29th

A 4 hour workshop aimed at expectant parents whether their first or fifth . Preparing you for what to expect when you bring baby home. This workshop has been created from what parents tell me they wish they had known before baby arrived! Combing my babywearing, feeding and infant development knowledge and training to deliver a bespoke and workshop.

  • Compare life in the womb to live outside for baby. How we can support that transition.
  • Babywearing
    • How carrying your baby supports you as a family.
    • Your sling and carrying options – safety considerations for all slings.
  • Preparing to breastfeed (a sample from the course)
    • Understanding milk production
    • what is ‘normal” and when/how to access support
  • Postnatal doula support
    • working as a family plus a newborn/s
    • strategies and plans to support each family member.
  • You can add on £25 for a calin bleu wrap and a 30min sling clinic appointment. Saving of over £12.

Sessions are run by Hannah, an experienced primary school teacher. This half terms theme will be THIS IS ME. Each session will have a different focus story/song. The activities are carefully planned to ensure they will support your child’s early literacy development. They will cover skills such as gross and fine motor skills, language development, phonemic awareness and mark making. Sessions are suitable for children aged 2 – 5 years old. £5 per session. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

The Huddle is joining in with Super Saturday. Sling and carrier demos, Monkey Music, Literacy Explorers, Play Town Parties, Bloom classes and more! Things to join in, take away and find out more all about the businesses part of South West Bumps & Beyond.

Monkey Music will be on the hour from 10am-3pm! Outside opposite The Huddle

Monkey Music Baby Development Workshop 21st September

Especially for parents of newborns and babies up to 6 months, this free and interactive session is designed to help you discover how you can use music to support your baby’s development from birth upwards. There will be practical activities for you and your baby, professional information and techniques to use at home. This workshop is free to attend but must be booked in advance due to limited spaces.
